This report provides an updated snapshot of current practices in the field by comparing the results of an earlier study with the findings of a recent survey.

This study is based on the results of a survey of 122 large companies—those with annual revenues of over $1 billion—that was completed in September 2003. Participants are primarily from North America—76 percent—or Europe—22 percent. Of the 66 percent of respondents who indicate that their function is HR, 66 percent are vice presidents. Deputy CFOs and 24 percent are directors.
