This issue briefing looks at the results of a survey of 1,614 C-suite executives from around the world on the challenges they face in 2022.

Document Highlights

In response to a Conference Board, Inc. survey, Canadian C-level executives identified labour shortages, rising inflation, and supply chain disruptions as the top three external factors they expect to impact their businesses in 2022.

They also cited labour shortages and supply chain disruptions as the biggest contributors to inflation increases, with inflation in Canada predicted to average 4.3 per cent in 2022.

Concerns around labour shortages have driven attraction, recruitment, and retention of workers to the top of the list of organizational priorities for 2022.

Growing and training the next generation of leaders to ensure that there is a succession plan for leadership is critical for C-level executives.
