Rupen Pandya joined SaskPower in 2022, where he is leading the team towards a sustainable and technologically-advanced future, ensuring that the company not only meets but exceeds the expectations of customers and stakeholders.

With over 25 years of public service experience in Saskatchewan, Rupen has held a number of significant roles including Deputy Minister of Finance and Secretary to Treasury Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of SaskBuilds, and Assistant Deputy Minister positions with the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Advanced Education, Employment and Immigration.

Rupen has extensive experience in public policy development and implementation across various sectors, including fiscal and budgetary policy, energy, infrastructure, labour market development, immigration, education, social services, housing, and intergovernmental affairs. His leadership and expertise have been instrumental in driving impactful change and fostering innovation within these areas.

In addition to his professional career, Rupen is actively involved in several boards. He currently serves on the boards of the Canadian Nuclear Association, Electricity Canada, the Western Energy Institute, and the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation. He is also a member of the Small Modular Reactor Leadership Table – Natural Resources Canada and the Leaders Council at the University of Regina.

Rupen’s past board experience includes the Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation, the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission, the Physician Recruitment Agency of Saskatchewan, and the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships. He has also been a trustee for the Public Employees Pension Plan, the Municipal Employees Pension Plan, and the Saskatchewan Students Aid Fund.

Rupen holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from the University of Regina.
