About
Ken Fredeen is the recently elected Board Chair for The Conference Board of Canada. He served as Deloitte Canada’s General Counsel and Secretary to the Board for 20 years before his appointment as General Counsel Emeritus and Senior Partner for Reconciliation and Accessibility. Upon retirement from Deloitte, Ken was appointed Managing Director, The Return on Disability Group. Ken has been recognized with numerous awards including Canada’s Outstanding General Counsel Award (2020), Canadian Corporate Counsel Association’s R.V.A. Jones Award (2021) and the CGCA Lifetime Achievement Award (2021).
His commitment to community, diversity and inclusion have been recognized with numerous awards including the Queen’s Jubilee Medal (2012), the Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons’ King Clancy Award (2014), SABA Diversity Award (2015), the David C. Onley Award (2017), the Catalyst Canada Business Leader Award for leadership on diversity in Corporate Canada and in October 2021 the Leaders To Be Proud Of, Leading Executive Ally Award.
Born in Saskatoon, Ken earned a Bachelor of Laws degree from the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan.
