Ron has over 25 years of experience in the finance industry serving with Equitable Bank, several GE Capital businesses, and a private equity firm in a variety of leadership and management roles.

Ron has been with Equitable Bank for over 7 years as a member of the senior leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO with accountability to the Board of Directors, he functions as the Bank’s Chief Risk Officer. Equitable is a Schedule 1 Canadian Bank having approximately $30 billion in assets under management and focus’ primarily on Real Estate secured lending in all areas of the Canadian market. In his role as Chief Risk Officer, Ron leads functional teams in the areas of Compliance, Credit Risk, Portfolio Analytics, Operational Risk, and Capital Management. He serves as the Chair of the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management Committee and works with and through his team to manage risks across the entire banking operation. As Chief Risk Officer, Ron also plays a key role in the Banks interactions with its Board of Directors, regulatory bodies (OSFI), management of Regulatory risk, and represents the Bank at various industry organizations such as the Canadian Bankers Association, and Trust Companies Association. Through Equitable Bank, Ron is an active member of the Global Risk Institute. Ron has represented the Bank as a panelist at the Toronto Real Capital Forum.

Ron holds a CPA, CMA designation and graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
