About Martin
Martin Dawes - MB.BS, MD (Lond), FRCGP, DRCOG, CCFP
Martin is a BC Family Physician and a Specialist Medical Advisor for Babylon Health. He started his clinical practice as a family physician providing a full-office practice in Oxford, UK, looking after 1800 patients for 17 years. After completing his PhD in 1992, he first developed and then ran a Master’s in Evidence-Based Health Care at the University of Oxford and then ran the UK Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine.
In 2002, Martin became a Professor & Head of Family Practice at McGill University, followed by his move to BC in 2010. He is a founder of GenXys, a software company that provides precision prescribing solutions, and his research includes ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, implementation of pharmacogenomics in primary care, and lifestyle interventions to prevent diabetes.

Chris Engst - General Manager, Virtual Care, TELUS Health
Chris is responsible for driving the success of Babylon by TELUS Health across Canada for both the public and for businesses.
Chris has been with TELUS for over 9 years in a variety of product, marketing and sales leadership roles. Before TELUS, Chris was a Management Consultant with A.T. Kearney and advised medium and large enterprises across North America in the pharmaceutical, financial, retail and industrial sectors. Earlier in his career, Chris worked in occupational health and safety, implementing large scale ergonomics and safety programs in hospitals and residential care centres across BC.
