In this economy, given the pace of change and challenges facing many organizations, Boards and Management are spending considerable time seeking to understand their organization's risks and risk mitigation strategies. Ultimately, better performing boards have found a balanced formula for overseeing and encouraging the management team in the management of risk, along with considering methods to improve their own board effectiveness in delivering risk oversight.

The Conference Board of Canada and The Directors College are pleased to present a special recorded webinar featuring Carol Willson, Associate Partner in Ernst & Young LLP's Toronto Advisory Practice.

Webinar Highlights

During this 60-minute session, Carol walks you through some of the best practices in risk governance, including enhanced reporting, coordination of board and management activities, and the development of risk management capabilities (for key risk areas such as IT Governance).

Attendees of this webinar will learn about:

  • confirming the board and management’s risk management responsibilities
  • establishing strong monitoring controls
  • identifying a variety of advisory/assurance related advice and assessments
