Job evaluation and classification are foundational drivers and ingredients of base salary systems, performance management levels, career paths, and labour costs.

Earlier this year, The Conference Board of Canada released an 18-page briefing summarizing the results of a Canadian survey of human resources professionals on their organization’s job evaluation and classification practices. This is a 60-minute recorded webinar dedicated to the discussion of the survey results.

Webinar Highlights

In this session, report authors Ian Cullwick and Nicole Stewart bring the data to life discussing the types of job evaluation and classification systems, processes, and practices in place in Canadian organizations. They also touch on the costs associated with job evaluation, the challenges organizations face, and the strategies they are undertaking to ensure their systems are effective.

Topics that are addressed in this webinar include:

  • What drives organizations to conduct job evaluations?
  • What methods do they use?
  • How is the information used?
  • How are classification systems linked to pay equity compliance?
