The monthly Index of Consumer Confidence is constructed from responses to four attitudinal questions posed to a random sample of Canadian households.

Document Highlights

Despite the recent solid gains in employment and gross domestic product, a degree of uncertainty prevails among Canadian consumers. The Index of Consumer Confidence fell for the second straight month in June, this time dropping 2.5 points to 83.1 (2002 = 100).
