The Conference Board of Canada developed the Innovation Procurement E-Learning Program to help build potential for innovation procurement by enhancing knowledge, skills and competencies. There are three introductory modules:
- Fundamentals of Innovation Procurement
- Understanding and Application of Competitive Dialogue
- Understanding and Application of Clinician and Stakeholder Engagement
Who Should Complete the Modules
The modules are aimed at procurement stakeholders in both private and public sector organizations who are not well versed in the fundamentals of innovation procurement. In addition, seasoned procurement leaders may find the material useful as a refresher and as a way to enhance their innovation procurement knowledge and approach.
It is important to note that there are many successful examples of innovation procurement, competitive dialogue, and clinical/stakeholder engagement taking place across Canada. There are procurement leaders and organizations that have become very effective at applying the elements of innovation procurement within their ecosystems. The purpose of this program is not to suggest these practices are not already being implemented in certain areas, but rather to encourage more uptake, where appropriate.
