The monthly Index of Consumer Confidence is constructed from responses to four attitudinal questions posed to a random sample of Canadian households.

Document Highlights

Although the Index of Consumer Confidence remains above where it was at this time last year, the recent trend in the national index has been negative. With a 1 point drop to 85.9 (2002 = 100) in July, the Canadian index has now dropped for three consecutive months.
