Creating a Better Workplace Culture for Your Future Leaders
As organizations evaluate how to build a workplace culture that motivates, engages and develops a diverse workforce, it is important to consider what future leaders expect and desire from employers.
The workforce is comprised of five generations (Traditionalist, Baby Boomer, Gen X, Millennial and Gen Z). Each of these cohorts possesses unique identities that translate into different behaviours and expectations in the workplace. It is important for leaders to be able to tap into the values and expectations of each generation in order to increase levels of engagement. Higher levels of engagement result in greater employee wellness, team collaboration and retention.
This interactive 60 minute presentation explores how generational identities translate into behaviours as they relate to three organizational factors – loyalty, authority and work styles - with a particular focus on younger employees. Canadian research on Gen Zs will be shared, comparing and contrasting differences with Millennials. We will emphasize strengths that younger generations bring to the workplace and areas for support and development as you build future leaders pipeline.
A model of organizational engagement will be provided to use to evaluate your current talent and leadership practices. The session will wrap up with tips to engage younger employees.
