The Conference Board Gulf Center for Economic and Business Research was established in Kuwait on October 2018, and this is its first Gulf edition of the C-Suite Challenge™ report. Fifty-one of the 1,520 C-suite executives that responded to the survey are from the Gulf region. This report focuses on these answers and compares them to the global pool.

Recession risk, global political instability, and a tougher regulatory environment head the Gulf’s list of external hot-button issues—those external stress points that CEOs and C-suite executives believe require a special focus for 2020. C-suite executives in the Gulf region are most worried about recession risk, in line with executives globally.
