The Conference Board of Canada
October 18, 2017
This quarterly survey reflects the opinions of Canada's top forecasting organizations and their outlook for the Canadian economy.
- The Canadian economy will expand by 3.1 per cent this year and 2.2 per cent 2018.
- The forecast of a decline in real GDP growth in 2018 is due mainly to the weaker outlook for household spending and residential investment.
- The Canadian dollar is expected to appreciate over the near term, thanks to rising interest rates and world oil prices.
