Employability Skills Toolkit
The Employability Skills Toolkit for the self-managing learner is a suite of practical tools designed to help learners use and develop the skills needed to enter, stay in, and progress in the world of work. The toolkit supports the learner-coach relationship by guiding learners and their coaches through six stages:
- Get to know yourself (i.e., interests, values, and skills)
- Give and get constructive feedback
- Identify and assess an individual’s employability skills
- Plan skills development activities
- Implement and practice skills development plans
- Document skills achievements and market individuals on the basis of their skills
Skills Credentialing Tool
The Skills Credentialing Tool is a self-assessment and portfolio-building tool for students, employees, and job-seekers. This tool helps individuals self-assess their essential skills, in addition to employability attitudes and behaviours, to create an evidence-based portfolio that they can share with an employment counsellor, instructor, and/or workplace supervisor.
The tool allows individuals to grade each skill on a rating scale and allows them to provide written examples of how they demonstrated each skill in the workplace.

Innovation Skills Profile 2.0
The Innovation Skills Profile 2.0 brochure outlines the skills you need to contribute to an organization’s innovation performance—to produce new and improved strategies, capabilities, products, process, and services .Four sets of skills are examined:
- Creativity, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills
- Risk assessment and risk-taking skills
- Relationship-building and Communication skills
- Implementation skills
Commercialization Skills Profile
The skills, attitudes, and behaviours you need to bring a new or improved product, process, or service to market and to maximize its value. Four sets of skills are examined:
- Business management skills
- Capital raising skills
- Collaboration and networking skills
- Sales and marketing skills
General Innovation Skills Aptitude Test
The General Innovation Skills Aptitude Test 2.0 (GISAT2.0) raises awareness and understanding around the skills, attitudes, and behaviours individuals and organizations need to be innovative—as listed in The Conference Board’s Innovation Skills Profile (ISP2.0).
By identifying and then assessing the innovation skills found in individuals and required by organizations GISAT 2.0 is a powerful tool that assists workplaces and individuals to better match their innovation skills capacities with their innovation needs. In particular, the GISAT 2.0 helps individuals, teams, and workplaces identify, understand, and assess three essential innovation skills measurements:
- The extent to which an individual demonstrates a desired innovation skill.
- The importance of an innovation skill to a particular job or job function (and what it means to an organization or an individual).
- The innovation skills gaps that exist between individuals and their job functions (what it means to an organization or an individual and what can be done to resolve these gaps).
