Ottawa, ON. MAY 4, 2020 – The Conference Board of Canada asked organizations across Canada how they are managing employee benefits – both for active and laid-off employees – as COVID-19 distancing measures continue. Findings of the survey are now available here: Working Through COVID-19 – Employee Benefits Survey.
The employee benefits offerings we looked at include:
- Group benefits.
- Life and accident insurance plans.
- Disability and casual absence plans.
- 68 per cent of organizations we surveyed have not made – nor are they considering making – any changes to the employee benefits offerings.
- Of the few organizations that have made changes, 46 per cent increased their paid sick leave.
- 68 per cent of organizations surveyed are continuing benefit coverage for all laid-off employees.
Survey responses were collected on Monday, April 27, 2020, and we received responses from 333 organizations. These findings are part of The Conference Board of Canada’s Working Through COVID-19 series. Themes explored so far are:
