The composite leading index of the Canadian economy sums up the performance of 10 components that track the short-term course of the economy.

The Conference Board of Canada’s Composite Leading Index rose 0.7 points to 112.7 (2010 = 100) in March, suggesting overall Canadian economic growth will pick up six months from now. It was the fourth consecutive monthly increase. Continued growth south of the border and the high-flying stock market were the main drivers of the index increase.
