Survey of Forecasters: Winter 2019
The Conference Board of Canada
January 18, 2019
This quarterly survey reflects the opinions of Canada's top forecasting organizations and their outlook for the Canadian economy.
- The Canadian economy will expand by 1.8 per cent this year, down from a gain of 2.0 per cent anticipated last autumn.
- The main factor behind the weaker outlook is a more pessimistic view on future increases in household spending.
- Increases in consumer prices will be more subdued in 2019, likely due to the slump in world oil prices last autumn.
