Publicly accessible information and data are core tenants of value-based healthcare (VBHC) to help build transparent health systems. To that end, VBHC Canada developed an interactive data repository that highlights innovative VBHC activity across the country.
As part of VBHC Canada’s Data Repository, we asked ourselves how we could objectively measure each activity based on its adherence to Porter and Teisberg’s widely accepted six-principle definition. To answer this question, we consulted with our stakeholders and amalgamated relevant indexes on VBHC to develop a series of grading criterion. Activities are awarded one point per criteria for a maximum score of 15. For more information about our methodological approach, please contact us.
