Very well done. It helped me in developing the problem statement for my doctoral research. |

This is a great resource. This information has provided my school with the insight and motivation to help support and grow a local robotics program to increase interest in STEM. |

A succinct and compelling examination of the skills gap in our province today. From the employer perspective, this validates trends we've been observing in other metrics, and the recommendations for all stakeholders should be a top priority for government, educations and employers. Another excellent report from the Board. thank you! |

This publication should be mandatory reading for students entering post-secondary education, college and university leadership and the business community. Unfortunately most Canadians have no idea what labour market information is, where to find it or how to use it. This report shows why this needs to change. Well written and relevant. |

This research highlights areas of improvement for all parties; students, educators, and employers alike, which is something that may not have been fully developed before. This report allows us to identify areas where the proper systems must be put in place to ensure that skills aren't being underutilized and that entry-level jobs are not remaining vacant because of skills mismatches. |

Excellent overview and a lot of actionable detail; chapters 4, 5 and 6 are particularly useful -- identification of specific occupations, skills and credentials, strategies for employers, educators, students and government, and recommendations for stakeholders. Thank you. |

A more insightful examination of our evolving labour market, the costs of skills gaps, and some broad actions to better meet the needs of both employers and job seekers. |

Today's youth and middle-aged workers need and deserve an in depth consideration of this report's points. A focused approach to guiding them into and keeping them engaged in optimal work will serve both them and Canadian society and economy as a whole best. The haphazard approach to employment we have now is not working very well. |

The original review was longer and more thoughtful, but your website dumped it when I hit "submit". This one is necessarily shorter.
This is a thorough, well researched document. As an educator, program developer, and student adviser it provides me with a significant amount of helpful information that will influence my advice and program decisions. The data are well presented, the chapters build in a logical manner and the conclusions are, for the most part strong. I would like to have seen a stronger recommendation to industry to participate through partnerships and funding of educational institutions to offset their own reductions in employee training and the significant shortfall of government funding to educational institutions. If billions are being lost as a result of skills gap issues, millions invested would seem to make sense. |

Excellent information that would be highly valuable to students from the high school level up. Many students face difficulty in deciding on a future occupation; knowledge of expected skills gaps may help to focus their career choices to these specific skill sets and compentencies. |

The report is a very detailed examination of an issue that will be of increasing importance in the provincial and national economy as a great deal of Canadians will be retiring from the labour force. A recommendation that perhaps should have been included in the report centers around the idea of a National+ Provincial Skills+ Knowledge/Opportunities Database. Employers would enter the opportunities and skill sets that they are seeking and employees would be inputing their knowledge, experience and skill sets. The program would then generate "matches" and notify the employer and the employee of a potential match and corresponding action would then be taken by both parties. |
