The monthly Index of consumer confidence is constructed from responses to four attitudinal questions posed to a random sample of Canadian households.

The Index of Consumer Confidence inched up 2.8 points in July to 82.5 (2014 = 100).The pace of recovery has decelerated from the two-digit increases observed over the past two months.
