Freight Trucks and Climate Change Policy: Mitigating CO2 Emissions
The Conference Board of Canada, 17 pages
March 16, 2010
This briefing looks at ways of formulating effective, equitable, and feasible responses by business leaders and policy makers to the challenge of reducing freight truck-related greenhouse gas emissions.
Freight trucks represent an important and growing source of Canadian and U.S. GHG emissions. There already exists a substantial amount of literature dealing with methods designed to mitigate GHG emissions. Much less attention, however, has been paid to formulating effective, equitable, and feasible responses by business leaders and policy makers to the GHG challenge. This briefing highlights this gap and suggests important areas for priority policy and business attention going forward.
