Andrew Harkness is the Strategy Advisor-Organizational Health Initiatives at the Workplace Safety and Prevention Services (WSPS) of Ontario. He has been with the health and safety association since 1988. Over the course of his career, Andrew has specialized in management systems and healthy workplaces leading practices.

Andrew has Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Labour Studies and a post graduate diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from McMaster University. Andrew is a Certified Health and Safety Consultant and a Professional Member of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering.

Andrew is a member of the CSA/BNQ technical committees CSA Z1003-13, the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace, and sits on the Canadian technical committee in support of the development of ISO 45003, Occupational health and safety management—Psychological health and safety in the workplace—Guidelines. He is also a technical committee member for CSA Z1000 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, ISO 45001 and CSA Z1005 Incident Reporting Investigations.

Andrew is often requested to speak at key note events, national and international conferences related to workplace mental health and mental harm prevention topics Andrew is an auditor for the R.W. Campbell Awards program for Environmental, Health and Safety Management Excellence.
