Anja Jeffrey is Director of the Northern and Aboriginal Policy knowledge area at the Conference Board of Canada. Anja is responsible for overseeing research, outreach and convening activities to stakeholders promoting a shared vision of sustainable prosperity in the North.
Anja has 11 years of experience in Northern and Aboriginal issues and opportunities from a domestic and international perspective. Prior to joining the Board, she worked for the Standards Council of Canada from 2009–11 promoting the value of standardization in Canada and securing funding for codes and standards development in Canada’s North to mitigate the impact of climate change on infrastructure.
Anja has 17 years of experience as a senior diplomat, including Deputy Ambassador to Canada with the Danish Embassy in Ottawa from 2003–07. She has also been posted to the U.S. (Los Angeles) as a trade commissioner, specializing in IT and venture capital collaboration opportunities between Danish/U.S. businesses.
