Free Self-Assessment Tool

To assist potential users of the LPI with understanding its content, the Conference Board developed a self-assessment questionnaire. This tool was designed to give learning managers and professionals a quick, informal means for evaluating the learning level of their organizations from their own perspective.

The sections and many of the questions of the self-assessment questionnaire are reflected in the actual LPI instrument. However, the full LPI is used with the employee population of an organization, applies different scaling and analytic methods, provides a formal report with recommendations, and can be customized to meet unique organizational needs.

The self-assessment is based on the five pillars model of a learning organization. By completing this information tool, three things are accomplished:

  • First, it allows learning managers and professionals to do their own rudimentary assessment of the learning level in their organization.
  • Second, it introduces the LPI content to learning managers and professionals.
  • Third, it highlights learning issues that may not have occurred to the learning manager or professional.
