Health Determinants, Disease Prevention and Management, and Health System Design
The Conference Board conducts extensive research on factors influencing the health outcomes of Canadians. These factors include demographic trends, such as the aging and ethnic diversification of Canada’s population. They also include the full range of social and economic determinants affecting individual and population health, such as income, housing, education, and nutrition. Strategies for and investments in disease prevention and management are another critical set of factors determining health outcomes, along with the overall design of Canada’s health system and its parts. Canadian leaders need sound research and keen insights to make changes in strategies, policies, and investments that will yield better health outcomes.
