2017 The State of Risk Oversight Report: An Overview of Enterprise Risk Management Practices

The Conference Board of Canada, May 4,2017 at 2:00 PM EDT
Live Webinar

While the number of organizations with more mature Enterprise Risk Management processes has increased in recent years, a significant majority still believe that their systems are falling short of being ‘complete’ or sufficiently formal.  This is one of the key findings of a US study carried out by North Carolina State University’s (NC State) Enterprise Risk Management Initiative in partnership with the American Institute of CPAs.  This webinar will be presented by Bonnie Hancock and Mark Beasley, who lead the ERM Initiative, which is based at the NC State’s Poole College of Management. It will explore the results of the recently-released, eighth annual report on the State of Risk Oversight. Based on responses from 432 business executives from different industries and a variety of organizations, the report provides a unique perspective on the current maturity of enterprise risk management in US organizations.

Webinar Highlights

In this 60-minute webinar, Bonnie and Mark will present the survey results and provide insights into:

  • The complexity of the risk environment
  • The maturity of enterprise risk management programs
  • The state of integration of enterprise risk management and strategy
  • The involvement of senior management in enterprise risk management
  • The future of enterprise risk management

And they will share some lessons from the survey for Canadian organizations.
