Lois Mainville is an Economist in the Provincial and Territorial Forecasting team. Lois monitors the provinces of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and manages the forecast for the mining sector at the national and provincial level as well as population, migration, employment, commercial services and trade at the provincial level. Lois also works on contract research and custom economic projects.
Prior to joining the Conference Board of Canada in November 2014, Lois worked as an analyst in a pharmaceutical consulting firm, where among her duties, forecasted the budget impact of new pharmaceutical products. She holds a MA in Economics from Université Laval and an undergraduate degree with Honours in Economics from the University of Ottawa. In her graduate studies, Lois specialized in program evaluation where she evaluated the impacts of Québec's low-fee daycare network on various child and family outcomes.
