Supporting Canada’s Competitive Landscape: Perspectives on the Organization and Management of Canadian Crown Corporations

This report explores how Canadian crown corporations work, function, and therefore perform in the context of the new economic realities following the 2008–09 recession. With specific reference to high-performance and best-practice standards, The Conference Board of Canada developed and used a proprietary High-Performance Organization Framework to assess the organization and management practices of 26 crown corporations across the country. This report also provides an overview of the crown corporation sector in Canada and insights into their relevance, benefit, and value to the Canadian economy.
