Selling Beyond Borders: Championship Selling program offered in Nova Scotia, Canada

Ottawa, August 8, 2017—In an increasingly globalized world, Canadian companies need to compete and win in an international marketplace. The Conference Board of Canada, in partnership with Optimé International and CompreCultures Ltd., have developed an advanced sales skills program aimed to help Canada's most innovative companies grow their business globally. This new "Championship Selling™" program titled – "Selling Beyond Borders" will launch this fall at Saint Mary's University in Halifax Nova Scotia.

"The Canadian innovation challenge boils down to great people and great ideas but poor commercialization skills," says Bruce Good, Executive Director, Centre for Business Innovation at The Conference Board of Canada. "The ability to commercialize and learn how to "sell" our innovative ideas, products and services are skills that are in need in Canada and we are confident this new program will arm sales professionals with the ability to compete in a global marketplace."

The program will challenge participants on how they think about sales and helps them develop the skills needed to sell in global markets. Using real-world examples, modern sales techniques and processes, Championship Selling™ will focus on cross-cultural communications, performance metrics, hiring and developing professionals, tailoring the sales solution, and identifying new market opportunities in an increasingly complex global market.

While the program is currently offered by the University of Manitoba, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, and Saint Mary's University, The Conference Board of Canada is actively establishing delivery partners across the country to bring this to as many of Canada's innovators as possible.

The Conference Board of Canada is Canada's largest non-partisan, not-for-profit, evidence-based research organization empowering Canadians and key decision-makers with insights and knowledge in economic forecasting, public policy, and organizational performance.
