Ottawa Think- Tank Recognized as a Top Regional Employer Again This Year
Ottawa, October 22, 2008– For the second consecutive year, The Conference Board of Canada has been officially recognized as one of the National Capital Region’s Top 25 Employers for 2009. The Ottawa-based organization is widely recognized as Canada’s foremost independent, not-for-profit research organization.
“A key to our success and reputation is our ability to attract and retain an outstanding staff, and receiving this recognition put the Board in a much-envied position as an employer of choice,” said Anne Golden, President and CEO of the Conference Board. “We’re proud to reflect the organizational best practices that we research and share with our members.”
Some of the programs that make the Conference Board an exceptional place to work include: public transit passes for employees; fitness allowances; a newly-renovated cafeteria space by designer Meredith Heron of Restaurant Makeover; and on-site wellness programs.
The National Capital Region’s Top 25 Employers is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers. Some 16,000 organizations were invited to apply nationally for this year’s competition. The winners are profiled in a special supplement in today’s
Ottawa Citizen.
