Meetings/Events

The Centre for the Commercialization of Mining Technologies and Services (CCMTS) holds two meetings per year, in cities across Canada. The meetings feature expert speakers, facilitated dialogue, and networking opportunities, allowing participants to:

  • develop action plans and strategies to improve the competitiveness of Canadian mining technologies and services companies, and to constructively influence public policy;
  • network with peers from relevant government departments and private sector organizations.

CCMTS Working Groups

The CCMTS features four working groups, aimed at addressing specific issues within the mining sector. Members are encouraged to choose a working group according to their organization’s priorities or their own personal interests.

Marketing Intelligence provides input into the design of industry surveys, to better understand and forecast industry trends. Potential survey topics include industry confidence and purchase intentions, technology trends, and emerging industry needs. Some questions may be chosen for ongoing surveys, to assist with benchmarking and trend analysis.

International Competitiveness focuses on gaining deeper insights into global mining and mining supply industry best practices. The working group’s primary goal is to determine how Canada can become a global leader in mining technology innovation and commercialization.

Workforce Training and Development aims to develop a broader understanding of the training and technology development requirements of the mining and mining supply industries, to help academic institutions develop more effective programming and curricula. This working group will promote dialogue between the mining sector and academia.

Health, Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory Issues monitors developments in health, safety, environmental, and regulatory issues—significant and increasingly important considerations for the mining and mining supply sector. This working group will promote industry dialogue on these issues.
