Centre for the Commercialization of Mining Technologies and Services
Overview
Canada’s mining industry has a strong global presence, but industry suppliers have not fully capitalized on the opportunities offered by the global market. The mining industry is conducting research and development into various technologies that will improve the efficiency of mining activities and address the sector’s environmental stewardship challenges. However, these emerging technologies are not reaching their full potential for commercialization—in Canada or internationally. The Centre for the Commercialization of Mining Technologies and Services (CCMTS) was established to find solutions for these commercialization and market-channel issues. It aims to foster collaboration within the industry, by breaking down barriers and working across industry silos. CCMTS members meet two times per year, to network and participate in peer-to-peer dialogue.
Key Objectives
- Provide business intelligence, commercialization tools, and marketing strategies for Canadian mining technology and services providers, to increase their competitiveness in domestic and global markets.
- Foster collaboration by breaking down barriers and working across industry silos—in particular, those related to the commercialization of technologies and technology-based services.
