Senior Manager, Program Development - The Niagara Institute

The Niagara Institute (the Institute) is seeking candidates for the position of Senior Manager, Program Development. This is a superb opportunity for an experienced professional with a background in leadership development. The successful candidate will be passionate about advancing leadership development in Canada and will perform a critical and strategic role for the Institute through the growth and development of its products and services and effective management of it’s professional network and client relationships.

The Senior Manager, Program Development, will work closely with a team of internal colleagues as well as with the Institute’s Associate Network and Program Partners to:

  • Develop and design customized programs and services.
  • Enhance existing programs.
  • Identify, develop and design new products and materials.
  • Optimize capabilities to deliver excellence in customer service and experience.
Reporting to the Director, Operations, this is a full-time permanent role based in Niagara-on-the-Lake and is available immediately. Ideally, the successful candidate will live in the southwestern Ontario region with flexibility for a remote working arrangement.

Principal Duties

  • Lead the identification, development and design of customized programs and services for corporate clients.
  • Work closely with custom clients to build relationships, identify needs/conduct needs analysis, and manage expectations engaging in various discovery processes.
  • Apply recognized principles, methodologies and approaches to design, develop, evaluate and assess custom programs and content that align(s) with client outcomes.
  • Help to streamline and establish an effective proposal development and contracting process.
  • Identify opportunities to update, refine and enhance existing program offerings in support of customer needs, trends and new markets.
  • Develop and build diversified and sustainable products that align with strategic growth objectives.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to establish strategy. Design, develop and execute plan, manage deliverables.
  • Provide leadership, effectively manage, grow and develop the Associate Network and strategic partnerships.
  • Coordinate and work with other internal and external stakeholders to accomplish goals, monitor progress and evaluate outcomes.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in a related discipline e.g. Organizational Development, Leadership, Curriculum, Adult Education or other related field.
  • Minimum of six years experience and advanced knowledge/practical experience in the field of management/leadership development, organizational development, program design and development within a corporate environment.
  • Extensive and well developed facilitation and program delivery skills including coaching, needs assessment, evaluation, program development, design and implementation.
  • Proven ability to balance pragmatic program development with thoughtful, client-centred approaches to organization challenges.
  • Well developed business acumen with demonstrated success in developing new business and delivering on targets.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with senior level decision makers in all sectors.
  • Well developed organizational, project management and planning skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable with clients, colleagues and organization needs.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in both official languages is an asset.
  • Ability to travel within North America.
