Research Associate, Organizational Performance, Learning and Leadership Research

We are looking for a Research Associate to join our Organizational Excellence, Learning and Leadership team. The successful candidate will be interested in pursuing a career in research and contributing to the Conference Board of Canada’s mission of building a better future for Canadians by making our economy and society more dynamic and competitive.

Reporting to the Associate Director, the successful candidate will be exposed to a range of topics including learning and development, leadership, human resources transformation initiatives, and other themes relating to building high performance work environments. To be successful in this role, you must have a background in research, writing, and customer relationship management.

This is a permanent full-time position, located in Ottawa and is available immediately. 

Principal Duties

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research related activities such as case studies, focus groups, literature reviews and interviews for client projects or research publications.
  • Help design, develop and conduct surveys of varying levels of complexity.
  • Produce charts and tables for research publications, customer meetings and presentations.
  • Assist in preparing written reports, articles and PowerPoint presentations based on research findings.
  • Respond to and follow-up on customer inquiries.
  • Actively contribute and participate in a dynamic and highly productive team environment.

Skills & Qualifications

  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related business, organizational effectiveness, human resources or social science discipline.
  • Highly organized with project management skills (i.e.: establishing goals, priorities, and deadlines and delivering on expected outcomes).
  • Ability to write in different styles for a variety of products and audiences.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience using SPSS is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite – specifically Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Bilingualism is a definite asset.
  • Ability to travel within Canada.
