Human Resources Coordinator

We are seeking candidates for the position of Human Resources Coordinator to join the operational HR team. The successful candidate will have a passion for human resources and would contribute to a dynamic and results-driven team focused on employee engagement. Reporting to the Director of Talent Management, this full-time permanent position is located in Ottawa and is available immediately.

The successful candidate will be a highly energetic person with a solid understanding of human resources practices and processes. In addition, the successful candidate will be detail oriented, possess a strong work ethic, and have the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Principal Duties

  • Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process of assigned positions, including: drafting job postings, identifying recruitment strategies and advertising, screening, creating interview guides, scheduling and conducting interviews, extending offers, coordinating reference and criminal record checks.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including: arrival preparation, and first-day orientations.
  • Coordinate logistics for quarterly all-staff meetings, all-staff events and organization-wide activities.
  • Coordinate the annual policy review and sign-off process.
  • Assist in processing security clearances.
  • Provide support to the team as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • College or university degree in business, human resources, or related field.
  • At least one year of recruiting and/or human resources experience, in a professional environment.
  • Unquestionable discretion for confidential and sensitive information is essential.
  • A proven ability to handle a large number of different tasks, set priorities and to work under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Strong technical skills in an MS Office environment including Excel and Outlook.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and administrative skills, attention to detail, and high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and equally comfortable contributing in an HR team environment.
  • Willing to apply for security clearance.
  • Fluency in English and French.
