Executive Conference Developer Opportunities - Human Resources, Western-Based Conference (Contract)
Overview
The Conference Board of Canada plays a leadership role in bringing together senior executives and professionals to help organizations better understand and respond to the rapidly changing global economy. The Conference Board has earned a reputation among Canada's top leaders for delivering high-quality, research-based, innovative conferences. Our Conference development needs vary throughout the year, however we are currently interested in receiving resumes from highly qualified executives, professionals or consultants who have extensive expertise and knowledge of the Energy Sector, are well connected and are interested in working in an independent contract capacity. Executive Conference Developers work off-site from their own practice/home office.
Principal Duties
- Possessing solid networking, research, written and verbal communication skills, you can identify the top issues and have the creativity and energy to assemble the best speakers and agendas, on time.
- Research and generate new, innovative and viable conference topic ideas.
- Report to the Executive Director, Conference Programs and establish an effective communication flow and working relationship.
- Follow through on commitments to other stakeholders (internal and external) and deliver on-time, every time.
- Identify, secure and liase with conference advisory committee comprised of senior executives, thought leaders, consultants, researchers and other top experts.
- Develop detailed program agenda based on consultations with advisory committee and Conference Board senior research directors/associates.
- Prepare and write marketing collateral and final agenda.
- Prepare detailed marketing briefs outlining size of the market and function, level and title profiles for primary, secondary and tertiary markets and potential sponsors.
- Deliver on all deadlines, obligations and commitments.
Skills & Qualifications
- Seasoned executive, professional or consultant with extensive experience in Human Resources Management.
- Accomplished networker with access to an extensive and diverse network of senior executives, thought leaders, professionals and researchers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative, innovative and highly energized - interested in and constantly "plugged-in" to leading trends and developments in the area of expertise.
- Ability to work independently yet stay connected.
- Have the appropriate office tools and support mechanisms in place to work effectively from home or a private practice.
