Document Highlights

Canada's tourism industry struggled through much of last year, as activity suffered from sagging consumer confidence and heightened concerns about employment and financial debt. The less-than-stellar performance can be seen in most modes of transportation, but air travel—which had to grapple not only with the weight of government austerity measures, but also with weakness in the number of conventions being held in cities across Canada—was hit particularly hard.
