Index of Consumer Confidence: January 2013
The monthly Index of Consumer Confidence is constructed from responses to four attitudinal questions posed to a random sample of Canadian households.
Consumers began the new year feeling more optimistic, with the Index of Consumer Confidence gaining 5.1 points to reach 83 (2002=100) following three straight months of marginal declines. This month’s increase brings the index to its highest point since June 2011.
