| This is good summary of economic forecasts revealing that a retiring demographic has very little impact on the current economic thinking, since there is no mention of demographics. Consumer spending accounts for 70% of the U.S. economy and a little less here in Canada. Given the wave of retirement and the absence of accounting for it in this economic analysis, I would say all these forecasts are overly optimistic. Most likely the Canadian dollar has topped out and will sink below par for many years to come and Canada will be entering a major economic downturn by the end of the year. |
