Territorial Outlook: Summer 2012
The Conference Board of Canada, 54 pages,
The Territorial Outlook provides the economic and fiscal outlook for each of Canada’s three Northern territories, including output by industry, labour markets, and demographics.
- Slowing growth in the global economy and
turmoil in commodity and stock markets
have led to us to scale back our forecast for
near-term growth for the territories from what
we were projecting in our previous Territorial
Outlook just six months ago.
- Still, despite the negative headwinds in the
global economy, the outlook remains largely
positive, particularly over the longer term.
- New mine developments will provide a solid
foundation for job creation and income
growth over the forecast period.
