The monthly Index of Consumer Confidence is constructed from responses to four attitudinal questions posed to a random sample of Canadian households.

Document Highlights

The Index of Consumer Confidence posted a 6.5-point drop in December, bringing 2011 to a disappointing close. At 69.9 (2002 = 100), the index is down 11.1 points from where it was at the end of 2010, and confidence is now at its lowest level in more than two and a half years.
