Conference Overview
Don’t let the urgent overshadow the important.
Extreme economic and financial turmoil, climate change, demographic trends, globalization – these are just some of the major issues that every senior executive has to deal with. Making time for essential planning and strategic thinking is more of a challenge than ever, and opportunities to connect with peers to discuss the issues aren’t as frequent as they once were. The Conference Board’s Executive Weekend Conference, an invitation-only event for top private and public sector executives, was created to provide such a forum.
Change your perspective in just one weekend.
The only program of its kind in Canada, the Executive Weekend brings together senior level private and public sector executives in open dialogue on the top challenges facing their organizations and the country today. Attendance is by invitation only, and we hand pick the 35 participants to ensure a balance of sectors, regions, and perspectives. We’re particular about this selection process, because the calibre and diversity of delegates contributes to the success of this unique learning experience.
What’s really important to you and your organization?
Previous topics have included Canada’s healthcare challenges, leadership issues, business and environmental sustainability, Canada – U.S. relations, venture capitalism, national security, human capital, the aging population, international trade, and the current pension funding crisis.
Are you ready to participate in an Executive Weekend Conference?
Don’t miss this unparalleled opportunity to learn, connect, and share your thinking on major issues with your peers from other sectors and regions. You’ll have an opportunity to share your thinking on a topic that’s important to you, your organization, or the country. The discussion is then opened to the floor for questions, comments, and other viewpoints. This approach enables each participant to share their views, learn from their peers, and develop new insights with the input of other senior leaders. The venue, format, participants, and approach all ensure an open, collaborative discussion of your top challenges. It’s also a great way to step back and consider the truly important issues that affect your organization and you as a leader.

Get your insights from the experts, and Canada’s top economists.
Senior executives and leading thinkers from the Conference Board participate, share their insights, and relate the issues to recent Canadian and international research findings. Glen Hodgson, Senior Vice-President, Forecasting and Analysis and Chief Economist, and leader of one of Canada’s top teams of economic forecasters, will share his economic outlook in a special session. Mr. Hodgson will also answer your questions about the economic issues that are important to your organization.
Leadership requires perspective.
This open, off-the-record forum provides time for you to explore, collaborate, and share your thoughts on a broad range of issues.
