The monthly Index of Consumer Confidence is constructed from responses to four attitudinal questions posed to a random sample of Canadian households.

Document Highlights

The Index of Consumer Confidence fell 2.2 points in February to 80.8 (2002 = 100) due to concerns about future job market conditions. There was little change this month in sentiment toward current and future income conditions, while there was an improvement in attitudes toward making major purchases.
