Council for Information Technology Executives

In today’s rapidly evolving information technology (IT) industry, change, innovation, and the need to stay one step ahead of the nearest competitor are critical. To keep pace and to ensure continued success, organizations must use and develop information technology that is able to adapt and respond to these changes. Increasingly, information executives are called upon to play an integral role in gaining a competitive advantage in a rapidly changing business environment.

The Conference Board’s Council for Information Technology Executives (CITE) addresses these issues by bringing together senior IT executives from major Canadian organizations in the primary, manufacturing, high-tech and service industries, as well as the public sector. Members are committed to actively sharing their knowledge and experience.

Key Objectives

  • Investigate and discuss leading-edge issues related to the field of information technology
  • Act as the common voice of member organizations to develop best practices, nurture the growth of Canadian IT specialists, and partner with influential bodies to increase awareness of the IT profession

Testimonial

“I’m involved with the CITE to both learn about the challenges and best practices of other IT professionals, as well as to provide input and my own experiences that may benefit the members. I have been a member for many years and appreciate the confidentiality and resulting openness of our discussions. The learning that we get through guest speakers and our members’ contributions are invaluable to me.”
