The monthly Metropolitan Housing Starts publication provides the recent trends in housing starts for 28 metropolitan areas and expectations for starts over both the short and long term.
- Expectations are positive for both the short and long terms in six CMAs. That is three fewer than last month.
- The majority of CMAs have negative long-term expectations.
- The CMAs with the biggest year-over-year declines in housing starts in March were Windsor, Saskatoon, Regina, Greater Sudbury, and Moncton.
- St. John's had the biggest year-over-year increase in housing starts last month.
